Bearys Institute of Technology , celebrated ‘BIT – Utsav 2012’, an annual carnival today i.e, 12 May 2012. The BIT Knowledge campus also witnessed the inauguration of Civil and Mechanical workshops. Prof Palakshappa K, HOD Civil and Chief – Coordinator for the event welcomed the gathering.
The stage gave way for the cultural activities as Innoli slipped into the dusk. Budding musicians, Brother-Sister duo, Abhijith and Shivalika of Emotion Audio, Bangalore enthralled the audience.
BIT took this opportunity to felicitate Dr.H.Maheshappa, honorable vice chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University. Chief Guest , Dr.H.Maheshappa, said “ Gone are those days where we used to invest money, now we invest knowledge.” He further had a message to all the students and said “We need entrepreneurs and not job seekers”.
Guest of Honour, M L A of Shanthinagar Constituency, Bangalore, Mr.N.A.Harris, expressed, “Every school is a temple of our country”, He addressed the students and said, “Just because you are about to draw better salary than the elders, that doesn’t make you big”. He concluded thus by saying, “Be a better human than any other.”
“Life is not a one day match, so what if you have come first or last. Everyone will live for the next forty years. It is ones prerogative to make it count.”, said Guest of Honour, Mr.Syed Sulthan Ahmed, Managing Director, Edu Media India Pvt Ltd., Bangalore. He further added a small inspiring story, which had the essence of “If this route doesn’t suit you, find the route which suits you. ”
Seven toppers in various engineering streams at the University level were honored during the event. BIT within a short span of 3 years has carved a unique place which is undoubtedly a great achievement.
Winners of various co-curricular and extracurricular activities were recognized too.
Chairman and Managing Trustee Mr. Syed Mohamed Beary presided over the event and expressed the importance of 3P’s, said, “One should have Pain, Plan and Perseverance”. He further had a message for the students and said, “No pain no gain” and thus concluded by saying “If you are failing to plan you are planning to fail.”
College report was read by the Principal, Dr.S.K.Raikar. Mr.Aneesh and Miss Bisneen [6th Semester Computer Science and Engineering students] was the Master of ceremony. Vote of thanks was rendered by Mr.Akshay, 6th Semester Computer Science and Engineering student.
